CONFIDENTIALITY

All communication between you and your counselor is absolutely confidential, which means the content of your communications and your records may not be revealed to anyone without your permission, except where disclosure is allowed or required by law.

EXCEPTIONS TO CONFIDENTIALITY

EXCEPTIONS TO CONFIDENTIALITY: As required by law, confidentiality may not apply under the following conditions: you are in danger of harming yourself or someone else, your clinician suspects that child abuse, child neglect, domestic violence, dependent adult or elder abuse has occurred, or that there has been an incident in which any person knowingly developed, duplicated, printed, downloaded, streamed, or accessed through any electronic or digital media, or exchanged a film, photograph, video... in which a child is engaged in an act of obscene sexual conduct. All actual or suspected acts of abuse will need to be reported to the appropriate agencies.
